When Erin & Jason told me their vision for their engagement photos I was so excited to shoot a Hong Kong themed session with our vibrant city as the backdrop for this special occasion!

As both Erin, Jason and myself live in Discovery Bay we decided to start the shoot there. When Jason proposed to Erin last year, he took her up to the Discovery Bay look out where they frequently hike with their dogs, it has fantastic views of the surrounding islands and without a doubt we all agreed that we had to have some photos in the location where he first popped the question!

After some gorgeous greenery shots we headed to Hong Kong island to catch the Star Ferry to Tsim Tsa Tsui. We took advantage of the iconic look of the Star Ferry to snap some more shots.

When we reached TST we began to explore the streets to find the true essence of Hong Kong, and without a doubt we had to find and shoot with another one of HK's most iconic features - the RED TAXI!

By this point we were hot and sweaty in Hong Kong's famous sticky humid heat and we could hear the 'Blue Danube' melody in the distance, we knew exactly what lay ahead, the one and only Mister Softee! We decided to cool ourselves off with some ice cream, you can't go take a trip to TST and not pick yourself up a soft serve ice cream in the famous Mobile Softee (formerly known as Mister Softee). Everyone who has grown up in Hong Kong has their own set of childhood memories connected with this lovely ice cream truck.

After devouring the ice creams before they melted all over our hands, Jason and Erin suggested heading to the Marco Polo Hotel car park, where you can find awesome uninterrupted views of the city. This is a gem I did not know about, since then I have taken many couples to shoot in this location which boasts of spectacular views of Victoria Harbour & ICC.

The sun was beginning to set so we decided to pop down to the TST waterfront to catch a few more photos with Hong Kong Island as our spectacular backdrop before heading back to Central side.

Once we arrived in Central we were greeted by the colourful lights of the ferris wheel and IFC, so before calling it a day we managed to catch one more romantic shot at 'blue hour' before the sun disappeared into the horizon.

Jason & Erin are due to marry in Erin's hometown in Texas in May 2019, congratulations to the happy couple!
